Francesca & Stefano welcome you to Lubnaig Guest House
Our back-to-nature Scottish getaway
Why stay with us?
After 25 years as flight attendants, our greatest passion has always been meeting travellers and providing a warm welcome. Our dream was to open a guest house and that dream came true with Lubnaig Guest House.
We chose the Scottish countryside for its dramatic and rugged landscape, and the warm welcome you can expect from the local community.
We know you’ll love it as much as we do!
Our guesthouse is located off the main road, so it's really peaceful. A place where you can completely disconnect from everyday life and where you can romp through a landscape of lochs and glens, speckled with castles and beauty spots, such as the Bracklinn Falls.
We love the mature gardens and woodland backdrop that sets the scene of Lubnaig Guest House. On a fine sunny day, you can relax on the terrace with a cold beer, glass of wine or just a good old cup of tea!
Our favourite spot indoors is the lounge area overlooking the garden. Guests can while away a rainy day or snowy evening in front of the log fire. Grab a novel from our large collection of books and curl up on the sofa. There are also many books on classic cars - another passion!

Food @ Lubnaig Guest House
Francesca and I share a love of cooking. We attended professional cooking and patisserie courses respectively, and guests appreciate they have the choice to dine in with us. Every dish we serve is prepared with love!
We serve a daily breakfast which is cooked to order. What will you choose?
A healthy option packed with goodness or our hearty full English breakfast? Either way, our breakfasts are made to set you up for the day.
We are also happy to prepare pre-booked dinners from Tuesday to Saturday. We take culinary inspiration from our Italian background and guests can enjoy a menu selection of Mediterranean and Thai dishes (we also lived in Thailand)!
Although our menu is fixed, we are happy to cook vegan or vegetarian-friendly options and we can cater for private dinner parties, just contact us in advance with the details.
Prefer to dine out? No problem! There are a variety of restaurants within 5 minutes’ walk of the guesthouse.
Lubnaig Guest House also has a fully licenced bar with a cosy lounge area, comfortable sofas and armchairs.
About the area
Callander & Local Area
There is so much to love about the local area. It’s the ideal base to explore the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, with plenty of outdoor activities to keep even our most active guests happy!
When you’re not exploring the surrounding countryside, you’ll find plenty to do in and around Callander town, which has been welcoming tourists for many years. Enjoy a round of golf at Callander Golf Club, saddle up for some horse trekking at Castle Rednock, or visit Trossachs multi-award winning gin distillery on the outskirts of town.
Smaller guests will love the Mclaren Leisure Centre in town with its indoor swimming pool and soft play area. Why not enjoy a day exploring the town and lunch in one of the local restaurants or pubs?
Callander is also renowned for its live music and cultural events. The annual Jazz & Blues Festival takes place in October and the Summerfest and Winterfest events are enjoyed by locals and tourists alike.
Callander is ideally situated as a base for visiting central Scotland. Within a short drive, you can visit Doune Castle - where Game of Thrones, Outlander and many movies have been filmed. Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument are half an hour’s drive away.
Within an hour you can explore the iconic cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow, and within 90 minutes you can be in the seaside town of St Andrew’s or enjoying a round of golf at St Andrew’s Links.
